Steps

Peel and dice the onion and finely chop the garlic.

Wash the bell pepper and cut into cubes.

Heat the olive oil in a deep frying pan or frying pan and fry the onion briefly.

Add the bell pepper and garlic and fry for a few minutes.

Add the diced tomatoes and all the spices, lower the heat, and let it simmer for a while.

Make wells in the sauce and crack the eggs on top. Let it set with the lid on the pan over low heat for about 6 minutes.

Heat the pita bread. Garnish the shakshuka with some finely chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
